Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 24, 2026

Chayi is designed for private AI conversations with on-device processing by default. This policy explains what data is processed, when third-party providers may be involved, and what controls you have in the app.

1. Data Processing and On-Device Mode

Core chat processing can run fully on your device. In this mode, prompts and responses are not sent to our servers.

2. Third-Party AI Providers (Optional, Consent Required)

If you choose a third-party AI provider, we may send your chat messages, conversation context, and any attachments you include to that provider to generate responses.

Providers may include OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, and OpenRouter. We request your permission before data is sent, and you can disable these integrations at any time in Settings.

3. Optional Cloud Features and BYOK

Chayi may offer optional integrations such as Apple Intelligence or experimental Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) providers. If you enable these, your request data may be transmitted directly to the provider you selected, subject to that provider's privacy terms.

4. Apple Intelligence (Optional)

If you enable Apple Intelligence, your requests are handled by Apple under Apple's own terms and privacy practices.

5. Data We Collect

We do not collect chat content on our servers. When you choose third-party AI features, submitted data is processed by those third-party providers under their policies.

6. Model Downloads and Storage

Downloaded models are stored on your device. You can manage and delete installed models at any time from Settings.

App preferences are also stored locally on your device.

8. Advertising

Chayi may use Google AdMob. AdMob may collect data under Google's own policies. Review Google's Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy

9. Security

We aim to keep data handling minimal and privacy-first. No software system is perfectly secure, but we continuously improve safeguards and app reliability.

10. AI Output Disclaimer

AI-generated responses can be incorrect, incomplete, or outdated. Verify important information with trusted sources before making significant decisions.

11. Policy Updates

We may revise this policy when features change. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised date.
